Their dream about own cabin in Trysil came true

–  We considered several alternatives, but quickly found out that Trysil was the best option: good location with short distance to Oslo, perfect infrastructure, variety of restaurants, world class skiing and wide range of different activities.

– Back then in 2006, everything was newly built here, enormous investments were made, says Lasse Moursund, while overlooking Trysilfjellet from the living room window in his large, beautiful cabin located in Ugla neighborhoods, at the top of Trysilfjellet.

Summer tourists

The couple travels from Oslo to their cabin as often as they can, but they use it most in the summer.

– We spend a lot of time here in the summer and rent it out in the winter. Trysil summers are one of the best things I know of, says Firhana.

– It is quiet and calm, even though there are a lot of people here. The hiking opportunities are fantastic, both in the forest and in the mountains. I would rather spend my summers in the mountains than by the ocean, she thinks – and continues with bragging about the great cycling opportunities in Trysil that in recent years has been developed just outside their cabin door.

– It is fantastic, she says.

– There are various bicycle opportunities that suit all kind of levels, her husband Lasse adds.

– You can choose between many options when it comes to bicycling in Trysil. I tried the trail called Northern Europe’s longest floating trail. It was not easy, but it was a lot of fun.

Takes rentals seriously

Since 2011, the Moursund couple have chosen to rent out their cabin more and more during the periods they themselves do not use it. They decided to take help from bookTrysilonline and let them oversee the rental. The choice was not accidental.

The Oslo couple make no secret that the winter rental of the cabin has given them good contributions to financing both further investments and maintenance of their large home high up in Trysilfjellet. They also have a small annex next to the main building that they rent out as well.

– The rental part is definitely a reason why we could realize our cabin dream. It was a large investment and the maintaining costs are high, so the income we get from renting is more than welcome, says Firhana Charania-Moursund.

– At the same time, it is great to be able to leave all the administrative work that comes with rental, to someone who really knows it and is good at following everything up. In that way we do not have to think or worry about it.

– There are always things that need to be done, and I spend a lot of time every summer on home maintenance. bookTrysilonline do a great job with ongoing maintenance throughout the winter season, and in the summer, we take care of it ourselves, Lasse adds.
